Employee Assistance Program

ComPsych has created a seven-minute on-demand training to help adults have conversations with children about yesterday’s horrific mass shooting at a school in Uvalde, Texas. We know this is an incredibly difficult time for many people, and we hope that this will be a helpful resource.

The Well-Being Webinar Series

The Well-Being Webinar Series is a monthly series of Zoom presentations presented in partnership with ComPsych GuidanceResources.

June’s Topic: Mental Health Awareness

At one time or another, everyone experiences symptoms of mental illness. Too frequently the response to such symptoms in the workplace is confusion, fear, judgment, avoidance and outright rejection. This leads to a worsening of symptoms and a deterioration of performance. This training is designed to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and to promote ways of supporting one another in the workplace. The session will address signs and symptoms of distress and effective ways of providing support for co-workers. The training also will include exercises to develop these skills.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the universality of mental health issues in the workplace
- Recognize the most common symptoms of mental illness
- Identify the most common unhelpful reactions to symptoms, why they occur and how to avoid them
- Identify ways of expressing compassion and support to a distressed co-worker
- Recognize the warning signs of suicide
- Become familiar with “Ask, Agree and Arrange” intervention
- Identify support services and resources for all employees

When: Wednesday, June 29, from Noon – 1:00 p.m. CT

July 2021 Lunch and Learn – The new EAP with ComPsych Guidance Resources

Can I continue using my existing counselor and receive the 5 free counseling sessions per issue, per year?.
Yes. You will need to call into ComPsych to request the referral and confirm that your provider is included in the new EAP network. Let the Guidance Specialist know the reason for the sessions. It is important that the referral is made with ComPsych prior to the initial appointment with the Provider.

If my current counselor would like to apply to be added to the Guidance Resources® Network, what is the process?
Information about how to join the ComPsych Network can be found at the following link; https://www.compsych.com/providers/login/login.xhtml. This includes information about credentialing, as well as a Provider Interest Form that will need to be completed to begin the process of applying to be a part of our network.
